Yet Another Thing About Mom

Bow Tie o’ the Day errands in Provo with me today. I’m lucky my mutts and ties have all enjoyed drives. I don’t know what I would’ve done if they had been prone to carsickness. Tonight, we get Mom again. Mom says this is her last trip up north. She’s said that for the last three years, every time she’s visited here. We’ve never believed her. Unfortunately, I think she’s right this time. It takes too much out of her. She can’t catch her breath. ☹️

And Another Thing About Mom

Twizzlers twists Bow Tie o’ the Day symbolizes noodles. I’ve stockpiled noodles for Mom’s visit, cuz she’s always hankering for noodles lately . Doesn’t matter if it’s cheap ramen, or fancy spaghetti. If it’s a noodle, it’s Mom’s. In fact, she is quite into the Knorr/Lipton side-dish noodles. Alfredo is her favorite sauce flavor, but Mom’s not a complainer. As long as the noodles have ANY flavor, she’ll say they were good. She’ll also say it’s been a long time since she’s had noodles. WTFudge? 🤷🏻‍♀️

When I Do Nothin’, My Neckwear Does Nothin’

Tie o’ the Day is couch potato-ing with us. Mom is up north-er with Mercedes (Betty) for a few days. I declare another Pajama Day today, cuz Mom is exhausting. Not because she’s demanding, but because I’m always on the alert in case she might need/want something. I’m forever in the starting blocks, so if she asks for something I can race to get it. And if she starts to fall, I have to be quick enough to catch her before she hits the ground. 🏃‍♀️

This Could Be A Relief Society Project

Bow Ties o’ the Day exist because duct tape and I exist. That means they’re made of duct tape, and the crafter was I. I’ve disclosed how inept I am at craft-building, but I decided to give this a shot. The bow part is ridiculously easy to make, which is why I’m able to make these resemble bows. The difficult part is assembling the duct tape neck strap. I’ve followed the instructions. So far, my strap resembles chewed gum, stuck to the underbelly of school desks.

The Bow Ties Adore Their Grandma Helen

Bow Ties o’ the Day waited for Mom to wake up for photos. I declared today a Pajama Day, but we wanted this to be a formal occasion for Mom’s visit. Thus, we’re bow tied black-tie style. After the selfie was taken, Mom dozed again. I believe Mom’s naps are her practice for her death. We have talked about her death many times. She enjoys life to the hilt, and she doesn’t want to go. But she says she isn’t one bit afraid of dying. 💜

Pain Is A Real Pain. Neckwear Makes It Feel A Bit Better.

Mom’s missing another photo opportunity with Tie o’ the Day, cuz she’s dozing around. Mom’s weekday routine revolves around naps and her tv programs: HARRY at 3, and ELLEN at 4. Do not call her during these shows. Anyhoo… My pain doctor is a TIE O’ THE DAY website subscriber. At my appointment with her today, I got to hear all about her fave stories, shirts, and ties from my posts. Her last name is BOKAT, which is pronounced BOW CAT. How could she not be a fan? 🎀 🐱

Same As It Ever Was

Bow Tie o’ the Day and I hoped Mom would join us in our photo, but she’s still conked out. And snoring. Our Cufflinks o’ the Day are mega. They weigh a half-pound each. We’re headed to SLC, the metropolis, to my appointment 🏋️‍♀️ with my pain doc. If we’re accosted by a mugger, I can use Cufflinks like brass knuckles! My visits to the pain doc go like this: Doc says, HOW’S YOUR PAIN? I say,  SAME. She says, SEE YOU NEXT MONTH! 👩‍⚕️ Helpful.

We’re Happy To Be Overwhelmed By Big Helen

Bow Ties o’ the Day, along with me and Skitter, are absolutely vibrating with excitement about Mom showing up  to crash with us for a few days. We and Bow Ties cannot sit still for even a few seconds of nicely posing for a clear photograph. We’re shakin’ and shimmyin’ and cartwheelin’ out of love for Mom. She seems to have this effect on people who know her, whether she’s bringing them homemade treats, or not. But especially when she’s cooked up fattening goodies. 🍪

She’ll Be Comin’ ‘Round The Mountain

Check out my bigly blinged-out cufflinks. Tie o’ the Day and I are heading south to pick up Mom. We get to entertain her for a few days. I doubt she and her healing hip will be dancing like Tie’s hula girls, cuz she doesn’t wanna break her other hip. Mom has been known to dance what she calls “a jig” to make us laugh. She has no rhythm, and that has always made for hilarity. But it’s never kept her from dancing her joy. 💃

All We Need Now Is A Houndstooth Apple Tie

Floppy Bow Tie o’ the Day is a houndstooth eye-popper. It’s being sorta matchy, with Shirt o’ the Day’s houndstooth fabric pattern. They match. They don’t match. Whatever. They both grab the eyeballs’ attention. And the happy Cufflinks o’ the Day give us green apples. I managed to travel to and fro, through three Wasatch Front counties on errands today. I was complimented on my fashion twice. My duds were smiled/grinned at over a dozen times. I’ll count all those acknowledgments as at least 14 LIKES. 👍
