With a Chauffeur Here, And a Chauffeur There

Tie o’ the Day’s fall hues remember the late Leona Riding used to “drink and drive” with Mom and Peggy and me. Driving those 3 old broads….OMGolly, we laughed all across the county until our laughers were sore. Leona, who wore groovy dangly earrings, was entranced with fall leaves. After she passed away, any day the leaves were changing colors as we cruised, somebody would say, “Look. Leona’s up in the mountains.” Now, Mom and I have only each other to say it to. I wonder where we’ll see Peggy. 🍂 💔

We Think She’s A Whippet-huahua

Skitter had two vet appointments today😱. Bow Tie o’ the Day accompanied her around her waist, but she was still her normal shaky, skittish self. We christened her Skitter because it fit. She rescued us 4 years ago, after she was found abandoned in a culvert. Roxy had to teach her how to be a real dog. Skitter loves us and her blankets, but she is still frightened of everything/everybody else in the world. Especially noise. And balls. And smells. And lights. And ceiling fans. Please let a mutt rescue you. 🐶 💚 ❣️

Fun And Games And Bow Tie Guesses

Bow Ties o’ the Day want to play the guessing game again. We all want to remind you gals out there to do your breast exams. We don’t want you to forget it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so your task is to guess how many pink bow ties are inhabiting this brassiere. We’re not divulging whose breasticle contraption this belongs to, but clearly its cups runneth over. It might help your estimating to know it’s a 36C. 🤔

Sometimes I Just Wonder About Stuff

I was born old. See the tears and furrowed brow on baby-me? Despite my hee-haw, ROFL ways 🤣 , I’ve always had a ponderous, troubled-by-injustice-and-pain-and-poverty soul. I’ve no doubt my sarcastic, slapstick comedy routine is my defense against the weight of the world I’ve always carried. It makes me who I am. I wonder how much more light-hearted I’d be if I had been born wearing this Bow Tie o’ the Day. How could anything ever trouble me, if I had come out of the chute wearing this bigly bow tie? 🎀 👔 😜

The Ties Really Did Help Me Out

And as a teenager, I still wrestled with my tie-ality. A snazzy bow tie would have transformed this high school photograph, and me. Bow Tie o’ the Day is helping me reflect on who I was then, compared to who and where I am now. It’s not an exaggeration to say my ties saved me. Three years ago, my bipolarity had me almost beat. I hadn’t worn my ties for years. But when I finally put one around my neck, the confusion lifted. Seriously. I was back in fightin’ shape. 🥊 🏋️‍♀️

Back In The Day

My kindergarten school picture would certainly have represented my soul more accurately if I had worn a tie. But I had not yet discovered that particular preference within me. I refer to those years as B.T.—Before Ties. Bow Tie o’ the Day is illustrating how this photo might have looked if I had been able to show my true self. So I guess I’m officially coming out of the tie closet to you all today. My hope is that you will accept me as I am. 👔 🎀 😜

Ties And I Are Kinda Like Squirrels And Bears

I’m preparing for winter’s too-soon freeze. Food storage and candles, in case of big snow storm? Got it. Mom-made quilts dry cleaned for hibernating as much as is humanly possible? Got it. But what to do about my Spock ear and the boring ear when we walk in the b-r-r-r-r-r-r cold? Bow Ties o’ the Day to the rescue! They are willing to be my earmuffs! Thoughtful of ’em, eh? And Suzanne will like that, as we walk, Bow Ties will stop me from rambling on. And on. 🌬 🕯 ❄️ 👂🏻

The Nose Knows Bow Ties

My nose has been quite itchy lately, and Bow Tie o’ the Day is assisting me in keeping that itch scratched. But this photo got me thinking about nose jobs. I’ve never had any kind of plastic surgery.( I guess you could say I’ve had porcelain surgery, with my teeth adventures.) Maybe a new nose would be fun. If I did have a new nose built, you know it would look like a bow tie. A regular tie-looking nose might make me look like an anteater. 👃

A Formal Affair Can Happen Anywhere

Bow Tie o’ the Day hosts a celebratory black-tie event. Why? Check it out: My truck’s parked in the garage no one’s been able to park in for months! Since the move, Ties o’ the Day and I have finally eliminated enough stuff, and organized other stuff, so that one vehicle can sleep indoors. The autos will take turns for a while. Let the party begin! I don’t have a “little black dress” for a black-tie shindig, but you know I have a gaggle of black neckwear. 🎩 🎉 🎀 👔
